Hershey, Pennsylvania is a town that was built by Milton Hershey for the families that worked at his factory. Yes, this town was built essentially by chocolate and for chocolate and when the wind blows right, it even smells like chocolate and that is why, in the summer, hotels book fast and book completely until the rains start again.
So, Howard Johnson was our only choice, but it was a good one.
It isn’t fancy, and admittedly, the carpets were a bit sad, but the rest of the rooms were clean and they didn’t smell funky like some older hotels can. The staff are great and the restaurant attached is amazing.
The free breakfast is very basic, but decent. Coffee and juice, cereal and milk, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, danishes. I prefer a bit of protein, but this is enough to get you out the door and… it’s free, so you can’t beat that.
5 minute drive to all Hershey attractions.
