Serving traditional Greek dishes made fresh with quality ingredients, Ouzo’s is a delicious place to stop if you’re in the Waldorf/La Plata area and aren’t on a budget.
The dishes are authentic, packed with flavor, and obviously very fresh arriving hot and nicely cooked.   I would have loved to try a sampler if they had one to taste more of the dishes they offer.
Combined with Obo’s pizza cooked within view in an old brick oven, there is something for just about every one.  At an average of $10 for a personal size 10″ pizza,  it’s probably the best value on the menu.  Picky eaters may even enjoy a salad or some chicken wings.

My only gripe is the portion size.  For $8.25, we split three small triangles of spanakopita.  It was heavier on the spinach, good, and obviously very fresh, but for that price, I’d hoped for at least one triangle more if not two.
Most dishes on the a la carte lunch menu are between $8 and $13.  The pastitsio (above) was the creamiest I’ve ever eaten and I devoured it wishing I had just a little more, but that little square cost me $14 and didn’t even come with a side salad.  If you’re hungry, filling up here will cost you a small fortune.
The baklava is delicious with chunkily chopped walnuts and a generous portion of cinnamon.  It’s an intense dessert, so one small triangle is big enough to split.
If I happen to be driving through La Plata, I may stop in again to try something different.  The food is great, but for a large group or with children, this one could break the bank.

About Tiffany

I'm eclectic. Sometimes that's a good thing because I can do bits of everything. Sometimes it's aggravating because I get distracted by so many amazing things. Mostly, I love photography and family, travel and writing, cooking, reading, art, and coffee. Sundays are church days to regroup and refocus. God's in charge here.

Keeping in Touch

Keep in touch, stay updated, and find out what's going on in my little neck of the woods wherever that may be.
